Conscendo

Introducing our first commercial model rocket, Conscendo! This innovative product embodies the essence of creativity as it ventures off the traditional path. With the addition of lightning holes in the fin, I've paid tribute to the classic Science Fiction movies of the 1960s, showcasing a retro design crafted from contemporary materials that yield unique results.

Simulation software has provided essential rocket performance parameters for Conscendo, utilizing a single-use Estes E12-6, 24 mm motor.

Conscendo will:

- Reach an apogee altitude of 764.0 feet (233.0 meters)

- Achieve a deployment velocity of 25.6 f/s (7.8 m/s)

- Attain a maximum velocity of 208.3 f/s (63.5 m/s) in just 7.49 seconds.

Rocket specifications include:

- Length: 44.89 in (1140.2 mm)

- Diameter: 1.64 in (41.6 mm)

- Mass without motor: 8.3 oz (235 g)

- Mass with motor: 10.4 oz (295 g)

- Stability: 1.55 cal / 5.71%

- Center of Gravity (CG): 27.35 in (694.6 mm)

- Maximum velocity: 208.33 f/s (63.5 m/s)

- Mach: 0.185

- Maximum Acceleration: 103 m/s².

Available for $125.00 plus shipping & handling, with Arizona state tax applied where applicable.

Arkia

The next product from the Laboratory is Arkia, a cutting-edge model in the realm of commercial model rockets. This design elevates the concept of lightning holes by incorporating a uniquely shaped fin and adding pods with internal reinforcing strips to prevent pod damage upon landing. So far, a single reinforcing strip has proven effective; however, further flight testing may demonstrate that incorporating a second reinforcing strip on the outboard side of the pod is necessary. It is this commitment to product reliability that ensures multiple damage-free flights can be experienced in a single outing!

Currently, Arkia is in the Flight Test Department, where I am learning to utilize reloadable motors without damaging the rocket. Navigating through triple-digit OAT adds an extra challenge! Additionally, testing of a Jolly Roger Parachute Delay Timer is part of this program, allowing me to experiment with longer burning engines.

Simulation software has provided insights into the rocket performance parameters, using a single-use Aerotech E28T-4, 24 mm motor. Arkia is projected to:

- Reach an apogee altitude of 1038.0 feet (420.0 meters)

- Achieve a velocity of 197.0 mph (317.0 km/hr)

Here are the rocket specifications:

- Length: 36 in (914.00 mm)

- Diameter: 2.20 in (56.00 mm)

- CG: 16.34 in (415 mm)

- CP: 28.84 in (733.00 mm)

- Margin: 5.64 Overstable

- Mass: 11.52 oz

- Fin Span Diameter: 11.22 in (285.0 mm)
